Trust Council Minutes for October 2014

The Trust Council met on 7th October 2014.  Trustees reviewed and approved  a draft of the new look Butty produced by the editorial team of Jane & David Inight.

Crofton Chairman Peter Turvey reported on the response of the Heritage Lottery Fund to the pre-application the project team had submitted.  It was becoming clear that we would need a more diverse fund raising strategy to realise the Trust's ambitions for Crofton.  There was certainly scope for an HLF bid but it would not cover the entire project.

Trust Council minutes for May 2014

The Trust Council met on 13 May 2014.  The meeting focussed on our work to preserve and present the heritage of the Kennet & Avon.  This included:
  • new PCs had been installed to enable our archive team to continue their work of cataloging, preserving and using Britain's most complete canal archive
  • Following winter works at the Trust museum, the Council agreed to improve access to the museum by moving to a 'entry by donation' basis as is common in many other museums.
  • Work on the HLF bid for the Crofton project had got off to a good start with CRT demonstrating its willingness to partner us in this important project.  The big challenge was (and remains) finding enough volunteer effort to drive the project forward.
The minutes of the meeting are available HERE.
